Long before “green” was a buzzword, Bartlett Brainard Eacott was practicing forward-looking sustainability.

Technology Meets Experience

With over 95 years of history constructing a broad range of projects, we can draw on corporate experience in the construction of multiple geo-thermal, solar PV, green roof systems and high-performance building envelopes, along with modern design and virtual construction tools to evaluate options for our clients.

BBE pioneered the diversion and recycling of acoustical ceiling tile in Connecticut by teaming with Armstrong World Industries to test, package and transport ceiling pads back to the factory to be remanufactured.

United States Green Building Council

In addition to completing numerous LEED certified projects (Certified, Silver & Gold levels), BBE has been a leader in sustainable construction practices.  We have assisted corporations in refining their design, construction and cleaning operations to be better stewards of our resources and environment.

BBE researched, composed and presented a white paper for a major national corporation that became the standard of their corporate real estate and purchasing departments.

USGBC/GBCI at the National Level

After 18 focus groups in 10 cities and hundreds of interviews, two of our LEED Accredited Professional  associates were part of the select group (16 people in all) of individuals nationally who worked with GBCI and the USGBC to develop the LEED Fellow Credentials and Recognition program. The group was comprised of architects, engineers, construction professionals and real estate operators. BBE was the only company with two representatives on that board.

International WELL Building Institute

BBE is proud to have worked on the first WELL Building registered project in Connecticut in 2016. The WELL Building Standard™ takes a holistic approach to health in the built environment addressing behavior, operations and design.

International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL)

Bartlett Brainard Eacott has constructed numerous lab facilities for a broad range of applications from fuel control and laser systems to biomedical and pharmaceutical research.  To provide greater value to our clients, we are active in I2SL, where the mission is to design and construct the next generation of laboratories to address both sustainable construction practices and contemporary standards of comfort, health, security, and safety.

As a standard in all of our operations, BBE provides:

  • Recycling
