On June 13th, the Connecticut Building Congress (CBC) held its 27th annual Project Team Awards ceremony to celebrate exceptional teamwork and coordination among Connecticut's best building projects and their project teams. This year, BBE and Paragon Medical were honored with a Project Team Award for Paragon's 230,000 SF modernization project.

When Pratt & Whitney shuttered its Southington campus over 25 years ago, it left behind an expansive 500,000-sf manufacturing plant, and the long-abandoned property was in poor condition when Paragon Medical first identified the building as a potential expansion site. Due largely to the relentless teamwork among all the project team members, Paragon Medical’s $15-million, 230,000-SF modernization was fully realized. The team completed the project on schedule and within budget parameters, and met all of the owner’s goals. Design of the project began in 2018 with construction completed in 2021.

BBE worked alongside QA+M Architecture and Van Zelm Engineers to complete the renovation on time and within budget. Through this renovation, BBE's Project team was able to turn Paragon's vision for their new space into a reality.
