On June 9th, dozens gathered for a ribbon ceremony that marked the official grand opening of the Glastonbury YMCA's newly expanded location on National Drive. The new 10,000-square-foot facility can enroll double the children in care programs and provides a bigger space for enrichment.

This new facility is the culmination of a years-long collaboration among the YMCA of Greater Hartford, QA+M Architecture, and construction manager BBE, and provides offerings such as:

• Increased childcare capacity for preschool children ages 3-4
• Two group exercise studios including a Cycling Studio and one to host group exercise classes such as yoga, core and more, and stretching
• State-of-the-art fitness equipment
• LIVESTRONG® at the Y Cancer support group
• Community meeting space
• Youth Sports
• Summer Day Camp
